One beautiful morning, the young woman stepped into her garden to enjoy the fresh air and peaceful stillness of the new day. That entire day, the image of the suffering little squirrel haunted her. She wished she could do something—anything—to help it escape such terrible pain.
In the following days, the squirrel returned. This time, she didn’t place the food in the garden corner. Instead, she fed it by hand—hoping to build trust and make it comfortable around her. She called a veterinarian for advice and began feeding the squirrel nutritious fruit, especially grapes, to help strengthen it before the minor surgery.
The squirrel had grown familiar with her scent, even climbing over the railing to take fruit directly from her hand without hesitation. As it came closer, she gently stroked it, then quickly wrapped it in a warm knitted cloth and placed it into a small carrier. She rushed it to the veterinary clinic.

Thanks to their love, the squirrel gradually recovered. The swelling reduced, and the wounds began to heal. At first, a few scars remained, but to them—nothing could lessen their affection for the little creature.
The squirrel soon became affectionate and deeply attached to them. It loved curling up in her arms, loved being petted, and loved climbing onto her husband’s shoulder during their garden walks. Before they knew it, the squirrel had become an important member of their family.
Months later, its fur had fully grown back, covering every scar. The painful past was gone. Their home was now filled with warmth, laughter, and the quiet happiness brought to them by one small, rescued squirrel.
